To fix the failures of the European system of emission trade, the Commission proposed to reduce the number of free credits given to the industry. Although the system is not working properly, there is no alternative, Matthias Groote member of the European Parliament, said during the weekly Euranet Plus "U Talking to Me"" broadcast. Groote criticized loopholes, which allow European companies to get emissions allowances by investing in climate-friendly projects in developing countries.
